The role

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and the environment and have initiative and self-motivation to excel in working with minimal supervision. Highly developed team leadership; communication skills; and experience in implementing and managing change initiatives are characteristics required for this role.

Reporting to the Quarry Manager, this position offers a competitive remuneration package and benefits including fully maintained tool of trade vehicle.

Responsibilities

Supervise, lead and monitor employees

Manage fixed and mobile plants

Cost management against budget

Strong customer focus (service and quality)

Hands on approach with daily team activities

Operate mobile equipment as required to meet operational requirements (dozer, loader, dump truck, dredge, weighbridge)

What you will need to succeed

Commitment to quality, maintenance, service and continuous improvement

Excellent time management and problem solving skills

Proven supervisory, management or leadership role within heavy industry operations (Certificate IV in Extractive Industries Operations is advantageous or be prepared to undertake studies to achieve this)

Quarry plant and equipment competencies will be well regarded (dozer, loader, dump truck, dredge, weighbridge, fixed crushing or sand plant operations)

Relationship building ability, and the demonstrated customer service focus

Exposure to heavy industry such as quarrying, mining or similar is preferable, but not essential

Willingness to relieve at other quarries within the Central Pre-Mix Concrete business to build your skills as required

Strong written and verbal communication skills including report writing

Intermediate computer skills
