Sydney based, leading engineering service provider in the APAC region with an attractive project portfolio range.



Your New Role

To be considered you must have rolling stock or heavy vehicle manufacturing experience with at least 5 years experience as a Quality Inspection Manager.

This is a dynamic role with a mix of responsibilities including business development, stakeholder engagement, configuration management and continuous improvement.



Your Key duties

• Provide leadership in Quality and Assurance activities throughout all
project phases.


• Review, guide and confirm quality plan, project quality controls and
requirement compliance activities (incl. quality management milestones,
gate reviews, audits).


• Actively identify and address compliance gaps, including recommendations
to continually improve project quality compliance.


• Review and guide First Article Inspections to verify quality, engineering
design and specification requirements are correctly understood, accounted
for, verified and recorded.


• Conduct quality audits and inspections to identify systemic and process
issues and to ensure effective Corrective Action Plans are established,
maintained and tracked.


• Report resultant issues during manufacturing and testing, in order to
monitor that delivery of the rolling stock complies with the configuration
baseline and can operate safely on the rail network.


• Engage with a wide range of stakeholders to understand their needs and
expectations.


• Monitor and review the Authorised Engineering Organisation of their
quality management standards, guidelines and procedures as required for
compliance to ISO 9001 and contract requirements.


• Provide reporting on Quality across all activities


• Coordinate and support all product investigations with the supplier to
provide a timely resolution of product failures.



Your profile

• Relevant mechanical or electrical trade or higher qualifications with
relevant experience in rolling stock manufacture or other heavy vehicle or
manufacturing environment.


• 5 years’ Quality Inspection experience in a rolling stock manufacture or
other heavy vehicle or manufacturing environment. This role is identified
as a Rail Safety Worker (RSW).

• Ability to analyse information and interpret technical documentation;


• Ability to plan and prioritise work activities to work collaboratively and deliver
results

• Ability to engage and communicate well with a range of internal and
external stakeholders


• Sound documentation skills to record and report non-compliances


• Organised and able to meet deadlines
