    This is a FT Casual Ongoing position, Monday to Friday 6am - 2pm.

    About the role

    Working with Brisbane City Council as a Purchasing Officer/Storeperson, you will be performing key warehousing tasks within the Toowong Bus Depot and undertake book sorting and item distribution tasks. If you have the relevant experience in a similar role and are eager to get your foot in the door with Brisbane City Council, this is your chance.

    • You must be physically fit, and able to lift objects or items in excess of 25kg.
    • You will be required to have good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.


    Key Responsibilities

    We are seeking a dynamic Purchasing Officer who will strategically drive the timely purchase of automotive parts across the Toowong Bus Depot including Workshops. You will be responsible for the management of all automotive parts coming in to the business to ensure the repair and maintenance of Brisbane City Council buses.

    • You will strategically source, plan and purchase key automotive requirements (knowledge on buses and/or heavy vehicles would be advantageous)
    • You will be required to use SAP on an everyday basis (knowledge and/or previous experience on SAP would be advantageous)
    • You will be proactively involved in the Company’s production schedule to ensure timely supply of automotive parts and equipment
    • You must be able to multi task and work to meet tight deadlines
    • Stock Management
    • You will develop relationships with suppliers and use your industry knowledge to deliver desired outcomes
    • Be able to generate and provide accurate reporting of purchasing data
