Division OverviewThe Design and Strategy Division has oversight of digital strategy and planning, architecture and user experience, policy and privacy, benefits and research, data management and information governance,.The Division’s purpose is to support the delivery of the Australian Digital Health Strategy and the Agency’s work plan by continually delivering insights which can shape the future strategy and expand digital health enablement through continually delivering solutions for quality customer experiences. This supports the broader Agency purpose of “better health for all Australians enabled by seamless, safe, secure digital health services and technologies that provide a range of innovative, easy to use tools for both patients and providers.” About the RolePrimary purpose of positionThis position is responsible for leading the Data & Reporting team, which currently consists of eight (8) business analysts, data modellers, and project specialists. The objective of the section is to design and deliver customer-centric information resources and implement new capability through innovative systems and processes that can inform decision making to improve service delivery. This is achieved by placing data at the heart of decision-making, with advanced analytics providing intelligence that continuously improves processes and information flows.The Director will also be responsible for providing advice to internal and external stakeholders as well as coordinating and assuming responsibility for highly complex or sensitive projects or work programs that have strategic, political and/or operational significance in relation to the activities of the section. They will be responsible for initiating, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Key AccountabilitiesLeading a team to deliver organisational outcomes, inspiring a sense of purpose and direction among a medium-sized team of subject matter experts.Build organisational capability and responsiveness of information systems and products through data-led design, measurement and evaluation inputs.Influence executive decision-making and negotiate persuasively regarding data strategy and vision.Develop business reporting and analytics requirements and forward work plan for developing and delivering on Agency data and reporting priorities, continually seeking CQI for enhancing ability to deliver data-led insights.Lead a team to establish efficiencies (cost, time, resource) by consolidating and leveraging best-in-class tools.Collaborate with peers and other staff to achieve Agency objectives.Manage team resourcing through recruitment and training to achieve work plan priorities.Proactively nurture internal and external relationships among the public and private sectors Act as data custodian for new and existing data assets.Drive the establishment of process analytics to support organisational improvement.Increase data literacy among Agency colleagues through both proactive and responsive engagements that demonstrate enhanced value of outcomes Follow all Agency policies, procedures and instructions and take reasonable care for your own health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace.
