Randstad Albury is seeking an experienced Project Officer to work with a Local Government Agency. To be successful in this role you will need Natural Resource Management experience and have a strong understanding of Government policies and procedures.

The Role:

A Local Government department currently has need of a project officer to support multiple major projects.
The Project Officer will provide high level project support to the Senior Project Manager and the project team.
The Successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring that project deliverables, outcomes and plans are implemented effectively, working in consultation with project staff and key stakeholders.



What you need:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Public Sector
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear and concise language, appropriate for the target audience
  • Administration and briefing experience
  • Project support experience
  • The ability to negotiation with other government departments
  • High attention to detail
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Either a qualification or experience in Natural Resource Management

This role is a contractor role in an exciting and interesting area of government with a quickly changing environment.

Key Selection Criteria

1. Natural Resource Management, Project Management or other relevant qualifications (tertiary degree or diploma) and at least three years demonstrated relevant experience or at least five years demonstrated relevant experience.

2. Well-developed project management and planning skills, and demonstrated ability to manage a number of projects, contractors and or contracts.

3. The demonstrated capacity to plan, coordinate, organise and deliver work in a self motivated manner.

4. Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills including negotiation, presentation and consultation and the demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of multi-disciplinary and/or community based groups.

5. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with systems including MS Suite, reporting, financial, customer relationship and/or GIS systems.

6. Current driver licence, Working with Children and Police Check.
