The Opportunity:

This vacancy for an APS 6 Project Officer is:

  • a long term temp opportunity from April 2019 to June 2020.
  • based on Elizabeth Street, just a 1 minute walk from Central station in Sydney CBD.
  • working in a large and growing Federal Government Agency.
  • paying between $48 – 57ph + super.

The Division:

The position is based in the Insurance Support program which aims to improve the consistency and equity of decision-making for the agencies applicants/participants, drive the adoption of insurance principles across the Agency, and provide greater certainty over Scheme costs.

It comprises an integrated set of projects, focused on equitable access and budgeting, long-term participant outcomes, and embedding a positive investment approach in the Agency’s culture.

Aim of the Role:

To plan, document and oversee all aspects of the Insurance Support program, including monitoring and managing progress reporting. Working closely with the Project Manager and staff to ensure that the scope/direction of each project, and stream of work within the program, is on schedule & managed effectively.

Duties include:

  • Supporting the Project Manager in project scoping, development, implementation, monitoring and reporting
  • Leading the project team in working within the Agency program management framework
  • Developing and maintaining project artefacts, including the project management plan, project schedules and performance reports
  • Providing oversight of project activities to ensure that deliverables remain on schedule
  • Building and manage collaborative relationships with National Office work groups, regions, and external stakeholders to support effective project management.

The Project Officer will engage with a variety of stakeholders in order to progress and achieve program and/or project outcomes.

Criteria:

  • You MUST be an Australian Citizen – only
  • You MUST complete/clear a national police check prior to starting - (hence likely start date of April 2020).
  • You must have at least 2 years experience in a similar role performing similar duties.
  • You would ideally have experience working in State or Federal govt.
