A Local Council based in Sydney’s Northern suburbs, has engaged Randstad’s services to assist in the recruitment of a Project Manager. This is a contract role initially running on until the 30th June 2019 with the view to the role being extended.

The Project Manager will look after the entire project lifecycle of a number of projects which consist of civil, build and sustainability upgrades. They will manage the day to day contract management of the redevelopment project and will be acting as the Council’s superintendent for these project. They will attend the site and oversee the progress and quality of works. Assess claims for progress payments, variations, extension of times etc. Manage Council’s design consultants and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholder. Ensure the project is compliant with legislation, in particular WHS. Write reports and other communications as desired.

To be successful, you will hold a tertiary qualification in Engineering or Construction Management. Have previous experience in construction management or contract administration. A working knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian standards in relation to building, construction and maintenance.

You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills. Superb report writing skills. A well developed working knowledge of NSW work, health and safety. Be able to set priorities and meet deadlines. You must also hold a current NSW Class C Drivers License.
