A Tier 3 Shop fitting D&C builder is seeking a proactive, hands on Project Manager for their busy operations in Western Sydney. The firm prides itself for their fine finish and craftsmanship and very much wants to employ someone with similar values.
As a Nationally recognised shop fitter their fit outs are detailed with high levels of superior finishes for retail outlets including mainstream consortiums like Anaconda, BCF and major fashion retailers.
Recently awarded a string of projects in Sydney they are looking for a performer who has come up from a Carpentry or shopfitting / cabinet making background with 5 years experience working in a hands on fit out environment, basically pushing and driving the trades.
This builder is growing, and with brand new Western Sydney offices, the PM will be key to their success guiding the team to successful delivery of hospitality, retail and commercial fit outs.

About the role
As their designated Western Sydney Project Manager, you will be expected to take full ownership of the project, but will also have initial guidance. The successful PM will have a pleasing portfolio, gained working on similar projects in Australia, managing all aspects of the project life cycle and ensuring safety and building standards are high, and the sequence of works are seemingless, ensuring a smooth and successful delivery, on time and budget.
... Programming is a key requirement of the role, so the successful PM will be PC literate with excellent time management and organisational skills to drive the project. Experience using software like NEXVIA and PROCORE is also highly desirable.
This Project Manager role would suit someone who can comfortably perform on projects over $3 million AUD from a Shop fitting, Fit Out or Commercial background working for an Australian recognised building head contractor.
Duties:
- Preparing programmes
- Forecasting
- Budgets
- Costing
- Financial Reporting
- Adherence to BCA standards
- Site Inspections, establishment and testing.
- Daily and Monthly reporting
- OH&S
- Subcontractor site Inductions
- Client Care
- Managing onsite issues
- Working to deadlines, contract and project time frames.
Requirements:
- You will have a minimum of 5 year’s experience working on similar projects ideally for a Tier 2 or 3 Builder in Australia.
- Professional delivery of Custom Homes, Multi unit residential or Commercial projects like child care.
- Trade Tertiary background - Carpentry
- On-site construction experience
- Commitment to safety and quality compliance
- Multi-project planning and coordination
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Great communicator
- Ability to work with Site Managers, sub-contractors and do own contract administration.
- Manage project budgets
- Ability to problem solve
- You will be highly motivated and ambitious with drive and passion in a leadership capacity.
- Confident and looking to exceed in all facets of your work. Delivering on time and on Budget.
- Exceptional Communication skills
- Computer – Use of Microsoft Projects, NEXVIA and Procore (advantageous)
- A “can do” positive attitude and confidence.
- Good management approach.
