This State Government Department is currently seeking a Project Manager - Communications Support to join their team for a 6-month contract with strong possibility of extension.
The Project Manager will assist in the management of communications prepared for community engagement activities for the Program. The Project Manager – Communications Support reports to the Stakeholder Interface Lead and then to the Project Director for the program. It is a full time role.
As the Project Manager you will:
  • Assist the Stakeholder Interface Lead to coordinate and deliver a range of communication collateral to maximise stakeholder engagement and external messaging (including newsletters, fact sheets, emails, and social media).
  • Assist the Stakeholder Interface Lead with the management of service providers to provide communications support such as graphics, 3D renderings, GIS and printing.
  • Assist with community engagement reporting.
  • Plan and manage community and other senior stakeholder functions including site visits, pop-up community engagements and community information sessions.
  • Manage tight deadlines and conflicting priorities
The Internal Communications Officer will have worked previously in a similar role and will have:
  • Demonstrated experience in communications and stakeholder engagement in road infrastructure development or a transport related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver communications material for contentious and sensitive public issues, including experience in preparing communications material for public meetings and forums including a wide range of engagement tools.
  • High level communication, liaison, consultation, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to inform and influence audiences at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex and technical information into accessible public information.
  • Experience of engagement with senior stakeholders and sensitive receivers.
  • Strong understanding of industry best practice for community and stakeholder communications.
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent relevant experience in communications, media or public relations.
