- This D&C commercial fit out team based in Sydney CBD are looking for a Project Manager with a tertiary qualification in Construction Management (or similar). The company specialise in finding creative fit out solutions and offering a high quality service, and can deliver commercial refurbishment jobs from the initial design concept through to handover. Initially, you will be based in their head office 5 days a week, however there will be up to 1-2 days a week 'working from home' available once you have settled in and need less support.
- Reporting to the Project Director and General Manager, you'll get full project-pipeline exposure. Your role will be involved from liaising with their internal design team in the early pre-construction process, to being awarded the contract, finalising the scope of works, awarding subcontractors, cost management/forecasting, through to completion and handover.
- We are looking to recruit a commercially astute and passionate Project Manager that is focused and determined in their career growth. You will work closely with your team on multiple fit-out projects simultaneously at various stages of the delivery process. All projects you will look after are in NSW, and project values can be from $200k-$3m in value.
- The team in Sydney currently has 15+ staff and are a close-knit 'family-feel' team that collaborate together to achieve their goals, already having achieved a strong pipeline of current and upcoming work for 2024 that you can be a part of. The business does have other teams in Melbourne and Brisbane too with a total of approximately 60 staff as a business, and they have impressive long standing client relationships. Your projects will include office workplaces, education and hospitality fit outs/refurbishments for global clients that you will have heard of.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working on exciting high-end commercial refurbishment projects up to $3m in value
- Using Cloud based IT systems including Procore
- Head Contract Management - overseeing preparation of subcontract packages - scope of works, procurement, tender comparisons and scheduling
- Reviewing, negotiating, and finalising subcontracts
- Cost management / budget reports / forecasting
- Maintain relevant systems for Safety, Environmental and Quality Management
- Complete financial and program updates reporting honestly and effectively, prior to meetings
- Ensuring quality projects are delivered, on time and on budget.
To be Successful:
- You have been working in a Project Manager role for 3 years+ and are interested in working for a close knit team with working from home flexibility of up to 2 days a week
- Ideally you have a Contract Administrator background and a Tertiary qualification in Construction Management or similar
- You will be keen to develop in the team and have experience on commercial projects compiling cost reports, forecasts and overseeing cash flow
- You have worked within the commercial fit out & refurbishment sector - if you have D&C experience this would be a bonus
- You have excellent communication skills and are excited to build on stakeholder relationships to ensure repeat business
- If you have only worked for a subcontractor, unfortunately we cannot consider you for this opportunity as the company is looking for someone specifically from a head contractor background so you have experience with overseeing and supporting your Contract Administrator with sourcing and negotiating with local subcontractors.
