The successful candidate will ideally have a background in building/construction and would benefit from experience in the electrical industry however this is not essential.

Specific responsibilities include:

· Develop and maintain engineering plans and schedules ensuring engineering and design completion on time and within budgets i.e. within contractual and technical requirements

· Monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing and negotiating variations to designs

· Provide a safe and secure workplace for all employees by actively working with staff to achieve the safety policies of the company and the policies of our clients

· Provide technical support to the project team ensuring compliance with technical specifications, legislation, approvals and standards.

· Determine construction methods, materials and quality standards, and drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures

· Organising and directing site labour and delivery of construction materials, plant and equipment, and establishing detailed programs for coordination of site activities

· Studying architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs, and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budgetary control

· Develop efficient communication between various project groups, as well as internal and external stakeholders

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills, education and experience:

· Project Engineering qualifications

· Experience in the Building & Construction Industry. Experience on heritage buildings is an advantage

· Experienced Project Engineer to oversee multiple crews and deliver substation civil / electrical maintenance projects (field & office based role)

· Ausgrid substation entry training, preferable

· Must have outstanding communication skills with the abilities to interact with the client

· Proven ability to monitor on site safety, quality and project budget

· Proven experience in creating SWMS, HSEQ Plans, Creating daily quality checks (ITP’s and ITC’s)

· Managing internal and external resources to achieve required productivities and Substation experience preferable

· Computer skills to include MS Word, Excel and MS Project

· Australian drivers licence and white card, essential
