Randstad are seeking immediate applications from available and suitable candidates for the role of Project Controls and Planning Specialist within a leading mining and resources organisation. Due to a commitment to asset upgrades to improve performance on the project, this exciting opportunity is available.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Develop and implement project control systems and processes to ensure project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation are effectively managed
- Develop and maintain accurate project plans, schedules, costs, and forecasts, utilizing industry-standard software and tools
- Track and monitor project progress, identify potential risks and delays, and implement corrective actions
- Analyze project performance data to identify areas for improvement and cost optimization
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate project status and performance to stakeholders
- Collaborate with project teams, engineers, and management to ensure effective project execution
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within the project controls function
The successful candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in project controls and planning, preferably in the mining industry
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and principles
- Proficient in project planning and scheduling software (Primavera P6, SAP & PowerBi)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
