The Client:
Our Client is the NSW Government’s principal whole-of-government financial and economic adviser. Who provides advice to inform budget decision-making; manages the State’s principal financial assets and liabilities; identifies opportunities for economic reform, monitors and forecasts the economy and state revenues, monitors the performance of its commercial agencies; advises on performance and financial management policies;
They are currently looking to recruit a dynamic and forward thinking Program Lead to support the whole of State FX procurement review on a 9 month contract. The successful candidate’s core activities will include leading the project team to partner with key agencies and internal stakeholders, analysis of procurement and FX management processes, identify process issues and opportunities for improvement and outline a future state design roadmap.
Key responsibilities:-
- Work with several NSW government agencies; assess processes for procuring goods from foreign jurisdictions and related FX management processes
- Walk-through processes and interview key stakeholders to understand current procurement practices
- Facilitate workshops, cross-functional working groups and one-on-one meetings with business owners and key stakeholders
- Identify and document issues/obstacles inhibiting the state’s objectives/outcomes
- Identify opportunities to improve current practices
- Identify opportunities to create standardised NSW processes and cross-fertilise good practice
- Lead a Data Analyst to quantify cost saving opportunities and risk mitigation approaches
- Communicate opportunities and outline a roadmap for future state operations
About you:
- Proven experience as a Project Lead, Consultant or Senior Business Analyst in a Government or Financial Services context
- Ability to understand, document and identify business process improvements
- Procurement and/or finance experience favourable, but not essential
- Finance, Treasury, FX, trading foreign currencies or financial service experience advantageous
- Strong communication skills and ability to operate across a wide variety of stakeholder groups including finance, procurement, budgeting, and risk management
- Strong report writing and presentation skills
- Outcome-focused individual, with strong problem solving skills who is enthusiastic and forward thinking
