job description

Our client is a Global Pharmaceutical company based in the Inner Melbourne CBD Suburbs. An excellent career opportunity exists for a Production Supervisor to take responsibility for planning, implementing and reviewing the manufacturing plans/processes in order to optimise resource use, minimise costs and ensure that WHS and Quality standards are met at all times. The role will be a 6 months contract with a view to extension.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Your main duties within this role will include but not limited to the following;

  • Support the team within the operational area to ensure customers quality requirements are met on time and in full.
  • Accountability for all Production and Inventory management activities
  • Responsible for Production targets and KPI's
  • Daily, weekly Production Planning and Reporting to Site Management
  • Supervise employees according to the production schedule
  • Ensure continuous improvement is conducted through the execution of best practice to reduce lead times.
  • Train or facilitate training for all new or existing employees
  • Promote a positive work environment
  • Ensure that calibration, Validation, and Preventive Maintenance systems are completed on time
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with other departments including Engineering & Maintenance, Quality to meet common goals across schedule adherence, waste and DIFOT

Qualifications and experience:

  • Previous experience in Pharma/Food/FMCG industry is essential
  • Sound influencing and relationship management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate people
  • Excellent project management and interpersonal/communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop & implement improvement initiatives
  • Negotiation and change management skills
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and WHS is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop employees;
