About the Role:
The Procurement Category Specialist is responsible for supporting the planning and implementation of Category Management strategies and initiatives, conducting category reviews and participate in planning and forecasting within the categories of responsibility. The role will support the Category Manager across a variety of spend categories with a focus on ICT. The position will develop and manage tender processes and contracts and provide specialist advice on procurement policy, procurement planning, contract formation and management requirements.
The role is required to deliver professional advice in relation to complex procurements and contracting matters, projects and issues to Senior Management and staff within Department for Education. The position will take responsibility for the delivery and implementation of projects in accordance with Departmental and South Australian Government policies and processes. The position will also contribute to the development of new techniques and methodologies that support Departmental procurement policies and guidelines.
Qualifications:
Desirable: A relevant tertiary qualification and/or a CIPS Diploma in Procurement and Supply or similar.
Special Conditions:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
