Our public sector client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with hands on experience with local government infrastructure projects and the ability to assess the compliance of development applications.

Key duties:

• Assist in providing high-level advice on engineering matters associated with project delivery, strategic planning, and infrastructure
• Support the team in achieving best practice in the management of all applications and compliance issues, ensuring all applications are assessed as per the agreed time schedule with suitable documentation
• Oversee compliance with the engineering conditions of development approvals including the management of uncompleted works and maintenance bonds
• Undertake pre-lodgement meetings and provide engineering advice for the project that will enable the developer to address issues

The successful candidate will:

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering with experience across government or consultancy
• Experience in the assessment of development applications for Greenfield sites
• Ability to provide engineering advise in a timely manner and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives.
