Position Overview:
We are seeking a strategic Pricing Analyst to join the Merchandise team. As a Pricing Analyst, you will play a vital role in consolidating both internal and external data to formulate effective pricing strategies and value initiatives that drive revenue growth. You will also be responsible for supporting the implementation and governance of these initiatives, ensuring they align with the business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
... Competitor Analysis & Optimisation:
- Monitor and analyse competitor pricing strategies to identify opportunities and threats.
- Provide insights on market trends and recommend adjustments to pricing models.
Profitability Analysis:
- Conduct regular profitability analysis on products and services.
- Identify areas for margin improvement and cost optimisation without compromising customer value perception.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with category managers, marketing, promotions, trade, and inventory teams to ensure pricing strategies align with inventory levels, market demand, and promotional initiatives.
Pricing Governance & Architecture:
- Validate and substantiate all price increases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable successful supplier negotiations.
- Analyse and review category pricing across retail formats and online.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure pricing practices comply with relevant laws and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, marketing, economics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in pricing and value management, preferably in the retail industry.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Skills & Experience:
- High attention to detail and strong Excel skills.
- Capability in drawing relevant insights from large data sets.
- Ability to develop meaningful internal presentations tailored to different audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Initiative and ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent time management skills with a diligent approach to work.
