Located in the City of Tea Tree Gully, Waterworld Aquatic Centre is a leading outdoor aquatic facility boasting three heated pools including a 50m lap pool, 20m Learner pool and Toddler pool, amazing grassed areas, large water slides and splash park features. Waterworld is seeking a Pool Operator to help deliver a safe, clean, and fun environment for all our visitors during the 2025 summer season.

As a Pool Operator at Waterworld, you will be at the heart of ensuring the facility runs efficiently and safely for all visitors. This hands-on role combines technical expertise with practical maintenance duties and daily collaboration with a dynamic team.
You will be responsible for monitoring water quality, maintaining chemical balance, and ensuring all pool equipment is functioning correctly. Your work will include routine inspections and servicing of pumps, filters, dosing systems, and other plant operations vital to maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.
Beyond the technical aspects, you’ll also contribute to the overall presentation and cleanliness of the facility, assist with minor repairs, and help set up and pack down programs or events. You’ll work closely with lifeguards, customer service teams, and supervisors to ensure the venue operates smoothly and delivers an exceptional experience to all patrons.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys active, physical work, takes pride in high standards of cleanliness and safety, and thrives in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment—especially during peak season.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain pool water quality and chemical balance.
- Operate and maintain filtration and chemical dosing equipment.
- Conduct daily safety checks and report maintenance issues.
- Assist with the setup and pack-down of events and programs.
- Collaborate with lifeguards and other staff to ensure safe facility operations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Working knowledge of pool filtration and chemical systems.
- Strong awareness of water safety and public health standards.
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and public holidays.
- Positive attitude and great teamwork skills.
Qualifications & Experience
- Pool Plant Operator Certificate
- Breathing Apparatus Certificate (willing to obtain)
- Working with Liquified Chlorine Gas Certificate (willing to obtain)
- Working With Children Check - Paid Employment
- Child Safe Environment - Through Their Eyes Training
- Pool Lifeguard Certification
- Applied First Aid Certificate
- Advanced Resuscitation Certificate
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated relevant experience
