platform/systems engineer in Melbourne

We are currently recruiting for a Platform/Systems Engineer to join a CBD based Financial Services Company in ensuring the continued operation and availability of their platform infrastructure.

You will be responsible for the delivery of projects as well as managing the existing platform with a strong focus on automating repetitive tasks and ensuring a reliable and supportable system.

Key skills required for this position:

• Experience in scripting and Infrastructure as code development (powershell)
• Experience with operational tasks such as patching, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring and restoration.
• Experience with Public cloud (Azure)
• Experience with cloud related automation concepts (Puppet, Jenkins, GIT, etc. )
• Expertise with Windows servers (2012, 2016)
• Exposure to and understanding of security, network and architecture requirements
• Excellent communication skills and strong engagement capabilities with a desire to mentor and share knowledge
• Strong problem solving abilities with demonstrated capability to pick up new concepts and technologies
• Strong systems engineering/administration background

This is a role that requires the successful candidate/s to not only be highly technically able, but also highly collaborative and affable.

Ability to deal with high pressure, delivery focused environments is a MUST. You will also need to have impeccable written and spoken communication skills.
