Role details:
To provide high level technical support capabilities for the Microservice and Event Driven Platform which is hosted in the Cloud. The MEDA Platform is a collection of modern information technology tools and practices that will enable accelerate delivery of customer-oriented flexible business solutions. There are numerous benefits to microservices architecture, such as easier deployment and testing, improved productivity, flexibility, and scalability of applications.
The Platform Engineer will:
- Develop and maintain detailed technical knowledge of the systems and services, including an understanding of business usage. Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical standards and support documentation.
- Develop high-quality DevOps friendly platform components that bake in scalability, fault tolerance and security, providing a measurable benefit in terms of delivery time and risk to help power our digital transformation through our REST APIs and Microservices.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency by automating existing processes.
... - Prioritise your workload and resolve support issues of varying severity within expected time frames. Plan and carry out tasks to ensure timely delivery of services.
- Champion best practices and provides hands-on technical support to accelerate Cloud learning among peers.
- Work with quality assurance specialists to ensure your deliverables have an appropriate level of unit-, integration- and/or functional tests.
- Identify complex risks, issues and improvement opportunities and ensure they are escalated as necessary.
- Identify, analyse, and record, document and manage complex changes in accordance with established ITIL standards and procedures.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders ensuring the governance and security posture of the platform.
- Undertake other activities as directed.
- Ensure that ICT support reference materials are consistently created and maintained including network diagrams, work instructions, quick reference guides and training material.
- These 2 roles will mainly assist/run the lifecycle patching required for our microservice platform, these include tools like EKS, Trivy, Fluentbit, kube-bench, mertic server, Nginx Ingress ect.
Requirements:
- Experience in least one of the following technologies Kubernetes, TerraForm, Kafka and AWS
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the lifecycle patching required for our microservice platform
- Knowledge of Cloud environment security best practices
- High level of documentation skills
- Proven ability to work autonomously and cohesively in a team-based environment
- AWS Associate or Professional level certifications highly regarded.
- Current and varied experience across public and private sector is highly desirable.
