job description

I'm seeking a Plant Manager for a machine manufacturing company where machines are designed and manufactured for the confectionery industry. Next to that, it designs and manufactures pumps and accessories that come with these machines, mainly meant for T-Gel moulding machines and complementary equipment. On average there are 20-25 main projects with lead times between several weeks – 9 months.


The Plant Manager is responsible for realizing operational goals in line with the strategic plan. As Plant Manager, you have an operational attitude focused on a lean engineering and production process to achieve high quality products in accordance with the specifications and customer requirements, and always with a strong focus on work health and safety.


Manage the growth of the company that is driven by the growth of Tanis worldwide.
Manage the overall operations and responsible for optimal functioning of the plant with regards to performance, efficiency, quality standards and safety.
Maintain and improve the companies’ operational performance.
Make sure to comply with agreed quality levels.
Coordination of the project management, engineering, operations and finance department.
Build a strong and active network with local authorities, banks and auditing firms.
Overall forecasting and budgeting. P&L and budget responsible, closely monitor operational and financial results. Report on these on a monthly basis to HQ.
Degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or similar.
A proven track record within business development in the food or feed industry, preferably confectionery.
Combines vision with an operational attitude.
Hands-on, result-oriented and entrepreneurial mindset.
Good technical know-how and insight.
Experience within an international and fast-paced environment.
Seasoned professional with deep and broad knowledge in the field of expertise and broad planning, organization and integrating knowledge.
Strong communication skills, team builder and team player who uses the strength of all middle managers, coaching and training them to obtain best results for the company.
You will be reporting directly to the management team in the Netherlands so your ability to function fairly autonmously is important.
