Our client is a not-for-profit education organisation that is seeking to take on a detail-oriented and organised payroll officer for a short temporary assignment, to assist in peak periods. The organisation employs over 16,000 teaching and non-teaching staff, who serve more than 112,000 students across Victoria. This position is based in the Melbourne CBD and you will work alongside various departments in the company utilising your skills. ... About the position
In the position of Payroll officer, you will report to the Senior Payroll Officer. Your main responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
- End to end payroll processing in accordance to policies and procedures.
- On board new employees and enter variations to employment records.
- Process termination requests and payments ensuring correct PAYG withholding on payments.
- Process salary packaging arrangements and salary deductions.
- Update Personal leave entitlements where there is an increase in FTE.
- Update Masterfile details
- Calculate and process pro rata entitlements
- Validate data entry and payroll reports.

Experiences and Qualifications:
The qualifications required for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- 2+ years of experience in the Payroll domain
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline e.g. Payroll, Finance, Accounting (desirable)
- Experience with using enterprise packages preferably Technology One.
- Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills
