About the role:

Operating within the Finance Department, you will be responsible for running “end to end” Payroll supporting the Payroll Manager across all aspects of the payroll function.

This includes processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for over 1000 employees across Australia. You will have the opportunity to be a part of a small team, and establish effective and efficient payroll procedures.

Key duties:

  • Data entry of new associates and employment changes
  • Processing termination and ad-hoc payments
  • Reconciling leave calculations and entitlements
  • Interpreting awards, agreements and contracts
  • Review of time and attendance data feed
  • End to End Payroll processing of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls
  • Maintenance of personnel files and other sensitive, confidential information
  • Assist with the reconciliation and payment of PAYG withholdings, payroll tax, superannuation and Workers Compensation
  • Assist with month end reporting and associated journals
  • Assist with preparation and delivery of PAYG Payment Summaries
  • Resolve any payroll queries with a strong customer service mindset

Key Outcomes:

  • Accurate and timely set up and maintenance of employee records in the payroll system
  • Accurate and punctual payment of wages
  • Compliance with award and contractual requirements
  • Development of payroll process documentation
  • Timely resolution of payroll queries with high degree of employee satisfaction
  • Compliance with company policies and procedures

Your experience:

  • Experience in a high volume manual transactional payroll
  • Large ERP experience desirable
  • Experience with award interpretation desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail essential as is ability to self-edit/review work
  • Advanced excel skills including use of vlookups and pivot tables
  • Demonstrable strong verbal and written communication skills
