One of the industries most highly and globally recognised brands are looking to enrich their Payroll team with a highly skilled, competent and energetic Payroll Lead to lead a team whilst also be part of a complex system project. Reporting into the head of Payroll, your primary responsibility will be overseeing the large national payroll of all cycles across a large number of EBA’s.

Key areas of responsibility;

  • Provide operative leadership and support to the payroll team to ensure the proficient and effective delivery of payroll to all employees nationally.
  • Deliver and plan the weekly & monthly payroll
  • Take ownership for the Executive payroll – monthly cycle
  • Provide strong analytical experience of payroll, compliance and systems
  • Ensure all payroll queries are handled on time
  • Identify process improvement
  • End of month and end of year payroll reconciliations
  • Run and process PAYG and payroll tax
  • Management of BI system
  • Maintaining weekly/monthly payroll and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Leave balance provision and reconciliation and FBT
  • Worker’s Compensation (RTW program, claims and payments)
  • Ensure the team displays a strong customer service ethos and possesses the capability and expertise to achieve high-quality service standards.
  • Maintaining agreed performance standards in accordance with Service Level requirements, legislation, policies and procedures.

Key skills & experience required:

Must have hands-on management experience of leading a high achieving payroll team

  • Ideally five-plus years in payroll with two plus years of supervising
  • Experience of working with large ERP/CRM systems – Chris21, Preceda, Meridian, Oracle etc…
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work in a complex and ever-changing environment
  • Strong analytical and payroll understanding
  • Strong EBA & Compliance legislation knowledge
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the national business divisions
  • Ability to develop and mentor staff in a dynamic environment
  • System migration experience will be highly advantageous
