About the Role
We have a Payroll Analyst role available working with a well-known NSW Local Government organisation based in Petersham NSW. The successful candidate would come in and join their Petersham NSW team on a contract basis until 20th November 2026.
Candidates for this role must have previous experience in end to end payroll processing, ideally within local government or a large complex organisation.
Candidates must also have experience using Tech One or similar HR/payroll systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on schedule in line with statutory, award, and policy requirements.
- Conduct payroll reconciliations and audits to ensure data integrity across TechOne and related systems.
- Analyse and resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure timely correction of errors.
- Maintain employee records, leave balances, and superannuation details in TechOne.
- Ensure compliance with PAYG, superannuation, Long Service Leave, and other relevant legislation.
- Provide high-quality customer service to staff and managers on payroll-related matters.
- Support system upgrades, testing, and award updates in collaboration with P&C and IT.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and automation.
About You
You will be an experienced Payroll Analyst with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing, ideally within a local government or large, complex organization.
- Sound understanding of the Local Government (State) Award and related employment conditions.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, and superannuation.
- Experience using TechOne or similar HR/payroll systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
- Proficiency in Excel and data reconciliation.
