job description

Opportunity for a Specialised Pavement Engineer to join one of Sydney’s fastest growing Council’s on a 6-12 month contract. The Pavement Engineer will be responsible for the Council’s entire road network and will focus on maintenance works.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide forward planning and programming of pavement investigations and designs to improve the overall condition of the Council’s road network.
  • Supervise the Road Assets Section and work on improving the Council’s Road Asset Management Strategy.
  • Manage pavement and road asset inventory investigations, testing and data collection.
  • Ensure effective communication with other relevant teams and staff within the organisation.
  • Assisting with the development of capital works budgets and management plans.
  • Researching and approving new materials for use in road construction.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Extensive work experience in pavement design and road asset management planning.
  • Current Class C Driver’s License.
  • Experience supervising specialised staff working in road asset management and renewals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
