Beautiful 120 place service, at occupancy, is seeking an Assistant Coodinator - Educational Leader to join their Leadership Team.

Working alongside the Coordinator, another Assistant Coordinators and the P&C, you will have full freedom to take over and implement fun and engaging programs for school age children. Excursions, incursions and community involvement are highly encouraged and you will have a budget to support this.

We are looking for an educator who has a passion for mentoring and developing staff and implementing a service program that is fun, exciting and developmentally appropriate.

Hours are negotiable but we do require full availablity, Monday-Friday. Minimum hours currently are 30 per week.

YOUR ROLE

In addition to the typical responsibilities of an OSHC educator, the primary role of the Educational Leader will be to:

  • Facilitate team building and learning through coaching and mentoring, monitoring, guiding and supporting educators in the implementation of programmed activities
  • Evaluate programs regularly and develop systems to ensure appropriate modifications are made to meet the needs of the children, whilst also promoting continuous improvement
  • Manage and organise the development of the service program, monitoring the implementation of activities to ensure they are child-oriented and developmentally appropriate

The position is permanent part-time, with a minimum of 30 hours per week. Hours of work vary between 6:30am to 6pm.

The successful applicant will need to be available for additional hours as required, e.g. during vacation care, staff meetings and training or when the Coordinator is absent, so flexibility is essential.

Requirements

  • An ACECQA approved Cert 3 or higher in Children's Services
  • A current Working with Children Check or equivalent, current driver’s licence, first aid certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) and resuscitation certificate.
  • At least 12 months experience in OSHC, with 6 months in a position of mentoring and training staff
  • A sound understanding of My Time Our Place, Qikkids and CCS is preferred - though training will be provided to the right candidate
  • The skills to lead other educators, motivating them to excel as they deliver fun and educational programs
  • A proven ability to build and nurture respectful and mutually-beneficial relationships with children and their families
  • A supervisor Certificate or willingness to obtain
