THE CLIENT

Our Client is a leading global multi-metals company, producing significant quantities of essential resources - zinc and lead, as well as other metals such as silver, gold and copper. They have mining and smelting operations located in Europe, North America and Australia and employs approximately 4,100 people.

SCOPE OF WORK

The Operator is responsible for the safe operation of plant and equipment and to assist the company to achieve environmental, quality and production targets. Operators may be engaged on Day Work, Day Shift Work, Continuous Shift Work or Shift Relief.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

Plant Operation

  • Operate plant and equipment including cranes, forklifts and jackhammers as required.
  • Feed raw material and processing agents into plant machinery.
  • Set controls and operate machinery.
  • Adhere to all relevant Standard Work Instructions (SWI’s).
  • Follow all Site Safety and Company procedures.
  • Safety Intervention of all unsafe acts.
  • Follow all reasonable instructions from the Team Leader and/or the Company.
  • Undertake all necessary training as directed.

Work Area Management

  • Ensure all walkways are free from obstructions.
  • Ensure your plant area is tidy.
  • Be actively involved in housekeeping audits.
  • Report all hazards and maintenance requests.
  • Ensure adequate standards of housekeeping, hygiene, fume and dust suppression within work area.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in the mining/resources industry is desirable.
  • Forklift licence is desirable.
  • Minimum secondary schooling is required.
  • Basic computer knowledge is required.
