An exciting opportunity exists with our client, a privately owned retailer with a strong national and international presence with the business is poised for further growth and prosperity.

Reporting to the General Manager, this is a vital role which focuses on enhancing the current and future growth of this leading Window Furnishings business.

The role works with the in-store leadership teams to coach, mentor and manage Sales consultants and Installers. It also works with the furnishing departments to support and coach them with a view to grow sales and improve gross margin.

This is a leadership role, with emphasis on maximising the customer relationships, and on coaching and mentoring the furnishing in store teams, on-road consultants and fitters across the state.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Coach, train and develop the in-store teams in systems, processes and products
  • Recruit, coach, train and manage Sales Consultants
  • Recruit, coach, train and manage Installers (contractors) in conjunction with store leadership
  • Reviewing Sales consultant bookings with a view to maximise leads and sales
  • Build strong and productive relationships with local and national suppliers
  • Plan, maintain and Monitor merchandising standards including the furnishings departments in store
  • Work with all stakeholders to familiarise the Furnishings strategy and implement it across the state.
  • Cyclical store visits to liaise, train and assist in-store furnishings Team Members and encourage continuous improvement
  • Plan and organise supplier product training

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Knowledge of retail operations and retail merchandising
  • Knowledge of commercial furnishings
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required
  • Proven experience in managing people and performance
  • Strong experience in managing consultative selling teams

It is desirable that you have:

  • Multisite management experience highly desirable
  • Trade experience
