About the role:
You are an experienced National or Group Payroll Manager who can bring expertise to the team, challenge the status quo and provide input to system, process and culture changes. This is an integral part of the business and will be an exciting role for the right candidate.

  • Supervise, coach and mentor your team of 10 in all aspects of payroll management, compliance and administration
  • Establish a customer service culture within the team and ensure that their services exceed customer expectations, and successfully build service partnerships with internal and external customers
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement through effective development and coaching of team members
  • Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Control the reconciliation of payroll, group payroll tax, third party payables via deduction, insurances and superannuation payments and authorise payroll deductions
  • Provide payroll information to management and others as required in relation to budgets, special projects and day-to-day payroll management
  • Monitor policy and legislative changes impacting payroll and ensure compliance in areas relating to payroll laws
  • Provide business advice on EBA matters and lead award interpretations
  • Lead initiatives and projects that contribute to align to company objectives with continuous improvement and best practice in mind

About you:

  • Expert in payroll systems, processes and associated legislation in all Australian states
  • Customer-focused, with excellent client service skills
  • Critical thinker and problem solver, who challenges the status quo
  • Ability to influence and negotiate and win the confidence of peers and clients quickly
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability
  • Flexible, proactive and collaborative
  • Proven experience managing a team is essential
  • Previous or current experience using Preceda and Kronos will be highly regarded
  • Experience leading payroll projects
