Music Program Coordinator

Randstad Education is proud to be working together with this great not for profit organisation that partners with schools and school systems to support school improvement. In order to do so our client has developed an innovative education model as well as a step by step program to support the implementation of this education model in schools.

This organisation is rapidly growing and currently working with over 40 schools in 3 states. They have an experienced team of professionals who support the school team, students and parents to effectively deliver the innovation model.

For two of these schools based in Cape York, our client is currently looking for a Music Program Coordinator. In this role you will be based in Cairns, but travel regularly and spend time in remote communities.

The position is a mix of program support and teaching. Therefore you need to have experience working as an instrumental (brass) music teacher.

About the role

  • Full time asap start and based in Cairns, with regular travel to remote area’s in Cape York.
  • Work closely with the music teachers and principals, as well as the project owner of the music programs
  • Responsible for program coordination, monitoring and reporting
  • Responsible for the coordination of Band Camp and other performances
  • Liaise with the Queensland music festival about the Cape York Instrumental Program
  • Full time 2018 contract with view to ongoing

About you


  • Are an Australian Citizen or Resident with valid work rights
  • Hold a Tertiary Degree in Education or Music with a Diploma of Teaching and Learning/Education.
  • Hold a valid teacher registration with QCT or eligibility to transfer to a QLD registration
  • Have experience teaching classroom AND instrumental music (brass)
  • Have experience organising a band and choir
  • Have experience organising performances and band camps
  • Are able to travel often and stay in remote communities
