About The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a self-motivated, experienced and capable Mining Project & Studies Manager to join our client’s sustaining capital project team. This position will be offered on a FIFO 4 days on/3 days off roster.
The main focus of the role will be in establishing a sound rationale for a variety of projects and sustaining maintenance activities, ensuring they are delivered efficiently. These projects include both processing and non-processing assets. The incumbent will manage a portfolio of projects and sustaining maintenance works, throughout their full lifespan. This involves liaising closely with on-site operational teams, subject matter experts and contractors for the studies, scoping and execution of projects.
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Strong project management skills with demonstrated experience delivering greenfield and brownfield projects on processing and non-process infrastructure in an open pit mining environment
- Experience working in project development or studies, with demonstrated experience achieving quality project outcomes
- Experience managing third-party vendors, consultants and contractors
- Self-motivated and has the ability to work with a high level of autonomy
- Sound understanding of project business case and scope development
- Sound understanding of project, engineering and construction management
- Sound understanding of project controls (estimating, scheduling and cost control) and project reporting
- Tertiary qualifications in mechanical or civil engineering is highly desirable
