About the company:

Headquartered in Perth, Western Australia, our client is an international mining company with projects in Australia, Western Africa and Southern Asia; and have a globally integrated marketing and distribution network.

About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, the Mine Surveyor is responsible for providing survey control at the open pit operation, including measuring material movement, pegging and set out for mining, project & rehabilitation activities and End Of Month processing. Laser scanning and drone operations are a regular part of this role.

Key Accountabilities

  • Promote and comply with company Environmental Health and Safety policies and standards
  • Undertaking routine surveys to measure movements to and from excavations, landforms and stockpiles
  • Providing accurate data and volume calculations for End of Month process
  • Tracking material production movements
  • Survey control of the installation of approved mine designs through field based mark up
  • Verification and conformance measuring of earthmoving, landform, ramp, road, stockpile, surface water site and infrastructure installation
  • Provide specialized technical troubleshooting for machine based GPS technology
  • The proper utilisation of drone and laser scanning technology to capture data
  • Ensuring all survey data captured is interpreted and translated such that it is stored in a usable format for other data users

Person profile

  • Self motivated with capacity to work within a team environment and independently
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Surveying or similar
  • Demonstrated experience with Surpac, Minesched and I-Site
  • 2+ years minimum experience in a similar role
  • General understanding of mining and mineral processing
  • C Class Driver’s License

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience in mineral sands operations
  • Senior First Aid

This role is offered on an 8/6 FIFO roster ex Adelaide or Ceduna.
