job description

Randstad is looking for an experienced mechanical trade assistant for an exciting opportunity to work for one of Australia’s leaders within waste management and recycling solutions.

You will be required to work both on site and in the workshop, where you will be conducting routine maintenance as required and actively participate in improvement projects.

To be considered for this opportunity, your profile will need to possess the following attributes:

  • Mechanical trade qualification (Australian attained or recognised) highly advantageous but not essential
  • Forklift and EWP license highly advantageous
  • Proven experience working in a similar role
  • High level reliability and flexibility to accommodate to work overtime on Saturdays
  • Adaptability to work in diverse and demanding working conditions

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Promptly recovering machinery from breakdowns
  • Removing and replacing of bearings, belts, valves
  • Minor drilling, welding and fabrication works
  • Conduct preventative maintenance checks
  • Cleaning of workshop floor, tools and machinery
  • Ensure compliance and safety processes are met at all times


Hourly rate will depend on level of experience and current qualifications/licenses.
