Opportunity

An exciting opportunity for a newly established Head Miller position has become available at one of our national food manufacturing clients based in Bentley. The Head Miller will report directly into the Production Manager and will have upto 4 direct reports and 12 indirect reports.

Our client is the largest food manufacturer in Australia & New Zealand employing around 6,000 people across 60 sites. Their product range is diverse and include multiple brands. About the role

The Purpose of the role is to provide day to day leadership to the operations team and ensure everyone is in a safe workplace, is consistent with product quality and efficient and timely in manufacturing their products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a role model for the department and create an environment that encourages personal growth & development
  • Supervise performance of the team whilst maintaining individual accountability and ownership
  • Coordinate operations team rosters and training
  • Ensure all areas of the plant are maintained in a clean, tidy and secure manner
  • Liaise with the production scheduler to ensure that requirements are met efficiently
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues
  • Contribute to the process of continuous improvement to improve safety and mill performance

About you

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • To be an experienced leader within a manufacturing environment ideally from food manufacturing, mining or fixed plant
  • A can do attitude and be flexible with shift patterns as the site moves to a 24/7 roster
  • Working knowledge of managing workplace safety and risks
  • Sound understanding of quality control
  • Analytical thinking and process improvement experience
