Our client is a leading local council in the North Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It is an exciting time to be joining their team, they have just completed a comprehensive service review and have developed a clear, achievable vision to keep innovating and improving their services. You will play a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life and making a positive difference to the lives of families and children.

The role:

Working 4 days a week or 0.8FTE, you will be coordinating operations and ensuring excellent service delivery across 8 maternity and child health community sites, focused on the promotion of positive health and wellbeing outcomes for families and children. This exciting role has a bit of everything to keep you engaged and challenged, including:

  • Leadership and staff management - get the best out of your team of 8 nurses and 2 support staff
  • Operational management - including contract management with stakeholders
  • Keep everything in order, accurate records, compliance with service standards, policies, procedures.
  • Strategic planning and development - lead the service in the right direction and conduct regular service reviews
  • Continuous improvement - analyse, evaluate, advocate and implement opportunities
  • Provide clinical and specialist advice to children, mothers, parents and caregivers
  • Stakeholder engagement and collaboration, including a range community programs

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Victorian Nurses Board registration as a Division 1 Nurse
  • Qualifications in Midwifery and Maternal & Child Health.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills - inspire, manage and motivate your team
  • Ability to plan, analyse and improve service delivery
  • Budget/ financial management experience or capability
  • Excellent people and relationship building skills
  • Current Drivers Licence

Similar and relevant experience leading clinical governance in a community based service and Local Government is also an advantage.
