As an IT Systems Engineer, you will support internally developed software and be responsible for the installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance/support of our software in production environments on-premise and in the cloud.
Exceptional attention to detail, an enthusiastic and inquisitive attitude, problem-solving and pattern analysis are required to support this fast-paced hybrid product.
You will need to be innovative and investigative, pre-empting problems with deployments before they go live. Reviewing change logs and getting to know the environment that you support will be part of your daily challenge. A strong feedback loop between IT and Dev is a necessity as we strive to become a truly “DevOps” product.
What you’ll be doing…
... - Planning and performing software releases and configuration, working to the agreed methodology.
- Troubleshooting anything from basic to in-depth technical issues ranging from basic networking issues, 3rd party software to in house developed custom applications.
- Creating and updating documentation for team processes and supported products.
- Analyse and understand logged incidents with strong technical awareness.
- Provide effective, efficient and professional solutions to all customers queries or concerns.
- Achieve key performance indicators and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Contributing to improving the product & team through collaboration and innovation.
- Provide support and deployment functions outside of normal working hours when required.
Technologies skill set:
- PostgreSQL / MSSQL / other T-SQL skills
- RabbitMQ / AMQP protocol
- Bash / Regex / TCL
- Basic Powershell / Bash Scripting / Python
- Monitoring of linux based system
- An understanding of Load Balancing principles - F5or similar
- An understanding around Automation principles - beneficial
- SQL - Running SQL Queries, Scripting, IIS
- Ansible / Terraform experience or knowledge - beneficial
Experience and skills:
- Proven experience in the IT industry using Linux Technologies (RHEL).
- Track record of being hungry for knowledge / technical skills.
- Able to communicate all needs, instructions, and decisions clearly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in large scale environments.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies and DevOps principles.
- Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English.
