  • Multiple positions available in Federal Government
  • Based in the Sydney CBD
  • Temp role paying $30-36ph + super (APS 3 equivalent)
  • Working full time hours (Mon to Fri 37.5hrs) to start 10th Dec 2020
  • Contract starting 10th-14th December 2020 to 31st March 2021, with the possibility of extension after that date.

Your new Department

You will be working within a Federal Government / Commonwealth Agency who perform prosecution / legal / law / community justice services for the public; to ensure a safe, fair and just Australia.

About your role

As a member of the Administrative Support Branch, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting lawyers in the preparation of evidence used in court cases
  • Organisation of legal files (scanning/filing/printing high volume documents, updating databases)
  • Drafting and sending of various legal documents (Subpoenas, Court Summonses)
  • Arranging logistics of transporting the paperwork/evidence to court (possibly pushing of trolleys)
  • Coordinating travel arrangements for relevant individuals and groups
  • Communicate and engage with all stakeholders (lawyers, witnesses & office staff)
  • Working with highly sensitive & confidential information

You will be successful in this role, if you will meet the criteria below

  • MUST be an Australian citizen (unfortunately no NZ Citizens or Visa holders)
  • Desirable - previous legal administration experience
  • Unfortunately no Law Graduates will be considered
  • Stable working history with proven reliability & longevity
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail - tasks must be completed accurately
  • Proven ability to work fast paced in a high pressure, deadline driven environment
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Strong computer literacy/administration skills of various systems (MS Office, and ideally basic Adobe Pro)
  • Attributes: Helpful, Supportive, Efficient

  • The successful candidate will be sent onboarding documents and a police check to complete prior to starting - (this takes approx 2 weeks to process), therefore you will likely start around the 10-14th December 2020.
  • A baseline clearance (in depth police check) is required to be completed once you commence in the role.
