job description

You would be joining a high growth area around changes to reporting required under IFRS.

  • Technical sign off of requirements.
  • Produce IFRS17 technical papers and accounting policy documents
  • Ongoing overview of the developing interpretations in Australia
  • Defining the approach including defining milestones and outputs
  • Collaborate with the wider project teams on design, test and implementation of new standards and impacts on financial systems and processes

The Lead Technical Accountant should demonstrate the following skills and experience:-

  • Qualified Accountant (CA/CPA, or equivalent), with detailed knowledge of accounting practices within the Insurance industry preferably Life Insurance
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian Accounting standards
  • Good understanding and interpretation of Insurance company financial statements
  • Experience in supporting the delivery of projects from a Finance SME perspective
  • Project management skills and highly organised and detailed orientated
  • Influencing skills to represent Finance effectively and listening skills to engage with various counterparties involved in the project
