    Our well-established engineering client are seeking an experienced Advisor to assist with all things HR and Learning and Development. This is an exciting and unique opportunity where you will be supporting the managers and employees with any HR queries, as well as assisting and coordinating the new L&D strategy for the business nationally.

    This is a hybrid working model role with the main office based on Collins Street, Melbourne. You will be reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, and helping to support the business through their period of growth. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to take on a new challenge, be innovative and make an impression. You may also be required to travel to the Canberra office on the odd occasion.

    Your main responsibilities would include, but not limited to:

    Learning & Development
    • Assist in the development of a learning and development strategy.
    • Liaise with Technical staff to produce timely, relevant and valuable training content.
    • Respond to queries in relation to career pathways and chartership/industry related programs.
    • Analyse L&D data to provide reporting and metrics.
    • Analyse and assess training needs and measure and evaluate training outcomes.
    • Assist in the setup of the online Learning Management System (LMS) through ELMO.

    Human Resources:
    • Provide advice on employment legislation and Award obligations.
    • Guide Managers in the resolution of workplace grievances.
    • Coordinate the Performance Review process
    • Assist the WH&S representative to ensure compliance in respect of WH&S and duty of care/liability issues.
    • Maintain and update employee records including contracts and employment letters.
    • Liaise with external recruiters, write job advertisements, interview candidates and coach managers on interviewing skills and techniques.
    • Coordinate and deliver the induction program for new employees.
    • Coordinate the onboarding of international employees, their visa applications and renewals as
    • well as the process for exchange program participants.

    The successful candidate will have strong experience in a similar role, and have a tertiary qualification in Human Resources and/or another relevant field. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, and a strong passion for both HR and Learning and Development.
