job description

Overview:

Our client, a thriving and evolving organisation requires an experienced Laboratory & Logistics officer for an immediate contract requirement in the northern suburbs.

Duties:

This critical role is to deliver the effective and efficient centralised sample receipt function at the laboratory, ensuring all samples are appropriately processed while maintaining first class levels of communication, cleanliness and delivery. Overview:

  • Centrally receive and process routine samples
  • Ensure samples are quickly delivered to the respective laboratories
  • Log all dispatched items on the computerised courier system and LIMS.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are available at all times including maintaining branding and cleanliness
  • Investigate all issues regarding samples with inappropriate information and samples centrally received and not booked into laboratories.
  • Receive goods delivered to the Laboratory, notifying laboratories of receipt and delivery to relevant departments as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within the logistics industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience in sample receipt and/or logistics within a laboratory environment
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Flexible hours and some after hours as required plus interstate travel
  • Current Class C driver’s licence (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
