Key Account Manager – Global fmcg leader – Melbourne

Our client is an International brand owner and category leader within their field. Due to continued growth, they now require a Key Account Manager to assist manage their largest account worth tens of millions of dollars.

This role is responsible for the implementation and execution of account specific marketing and promotional activity to drive commercial account growth.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of account management and business development
  • Identify and contact potential contacts within account for new business opportunities
  • Build positive relationship with all existing contacts within the account
  • Monitor competitor products, pricing, weakness and strengths to develop our business strategy
  • Develop sales plan and strategy to increase business opportunities
  • Provide monthly business reporting and forecasting to management
  • Collaborate with account team to determine selling and marketing strategies

Requirements for the role:

  • Strong account management and relationship building skills
  • Ability to manage range review projects delivering an end to end solution and ensuring all key KPIs are executed timely
  • Ability to work with other departments and key stakeholders
  • Ability to build and manage strong relationships at all levels of the customers business
  • Ability to work out sales deals that will accomplish budgeted margins and correspond to the company's sales policies.
  • Previous experience in Account Management or Territory Sales and display an attitude that is key to success
  • Experience at managing major national accounts at head office level
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Liaise with the inventory team to ensure that all promotions and new product launches meet the agreed timeframes
  • Build relationships with key customer inventory personnel to ensure that forecasting is reviewed and accurate
