Initial 6 month contractParramatta locationWell established Government agencyRate up to $950/day + superRandstad is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to guide, lead and undertake planning with a team of Developers for the creation and changes to large or complex applications.Key accountabilities: Develop and manage development practice by applying best practice methodologies and industry recognised standards, processes and systems, including co-ordination of input from developers across squads to ensure they are clear about the ways of working in a digital agile environment.Develop and implement specifications, systems design, effective solutions and tools, exploring different approaches to solving problems, to enable effective delivery and enhanced ways of working.Drive the analysis, identification, prioritisation and implementation of improvements and efficiencies to maximise value from services, including the potential for automation of processes, determining costs and benefits of new approaches, managing change and assisting implementation where needed.Plan and allocate resources across squads, including build and integration activities to create operational services and support effective delivery.Use technical expertise in the user story capture phase and translate user stories to design approaches that ensure the solution is sustainable and consideration is given to user needs and associated interfaces.Develop, implement and refine procedures for estimates, then assume technical responsibility for all stages of the software development process to ensure compliance with security and application development standards, communication with team and achievement of documented requirements.Monitor and report on 3rd level support of developed applications to reduce the impact of application defects, rework and related incidents; complying with incident and problem management processes.Analyse and respond to customer feedback and insights and contribute to ongoing improvements to products and service delivery.Essential requirements: Strong experience in Java development.3+ year experience in Microservice and familiar with Microservice patterns is preferred.Must have hands-on development experience in AWS.Experience in Spring Boot v2.x.Experience in Spring Data/ Hibernate.Experience in GIT, nice to have Bitbucket/Gitlab experience but not mandatory.Experience in SQL Queries, Oracle Queries •Good to have Kubernetes concepts and components understanding.Should know how to run Springboot apps in Docker containers and tune docker Configurations.Experience leading/managing a team.If you wish to be considered for this role, visit the Apply button now. We are now seeking a Systems Cloud Administrator to join this large government department for a 12 month contract with potential for further extensions.This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual to perform a critical role where you will be responsible for administration of AWS and Azure environments either via a web portal and/or via PowerShell/CLI commands.Other duties will include:Development of AWS cloud formation templates;Working knowledge of AWS Config, AWS Service Control Policies and IAM policies;Use of Management groups, blueprints and policies to govern Azure subscriptions;Monitoring of services and workloads in the cloud;The ability to perform BI actions on logging, cloud billing/usage and metric data;Produce and maintain quality systems documentation;Liaise with clients, giving timely and detailed verbal and written advice as required on Azure and/or AWS cloud services;Ensure that deliverables are prioritised and completed within the specified timeframes;Deliver outcomes that comply with documented technical architectures and policies; and;Deliver services that comply with change, configuration, incident and problem management methodologies and systems.Your toolkit for success will be:Experience managing and supporting AWS and/or Azure hybrid cloud environments and demonstrated experience with AWS config rules, and AWS Service Control Policies and ideally Azure RGs, Azure Blueprints, Azure Management Groups;The ability to analyse cloud logs and billing data using billing APIs and Business Intelligence(BI) toolsets;Demonstrated experience working with JSON and/or YAML templates;Ideally a good understanding of Cloud security - Security Groups, network security, encryption, auditing, monitoring and logging; and;PowerShell and other relevant scripting languages.Highly desirable skills:Experience with SQL server administration and T-SQL query language;Experience with automation via scripts and orchestration tools;Windows Server System Administration (minimum of Windows Server 2012 R2 / Windows Server 2016);Experience supporting an Enterprise environment; and;Demonstrated history of producing high quality systems documentation.
