Role overviewAn Allied Health Practice (Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Dietetics, Podiatry, and Occupational Therapy) that provides in clinic and mobile services to children and adults. The mixed caseloads and the multiple settings in which they work ensure that our therapists are constantly provided with opportunities to develop their skills across many areas.By meeting with this client recently, we understand this opportunity to be suitable for occupational therapists with little experience to join a wider team where they will be supported to do the role fully. Alternatively, as the 2 Directors specialise in other professions (Speech and physio) they would be interested to speak to someone who wants to come in at a leadership level as well. About the opportunity:An opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join the dedicated Occupational Therapy team in for clinic / school based work in the western suburbs of Sydney. The position is for 4 to 5 days per week (hours on these days are flexible). This is either a Full time or contractor position. Duties include:Clinical assessments and treatment of physical, developmental and neurological conditionsAssessment and prescription of aids and equipment to improve independent living skills e.g. hoists, mobile commode, wheelchairsCapable of a variety therapeutic based approaches (gross motor, fine motor, sensory skills, cognitive skills, attention skills etc.)Focus on building relationships and assisting people day to day with effective communication and serviceEnvironmental assessments and home modifications to minimise the risk of falls and improve accessAssessment of clients mobility and control when moving in their environments Essential CriteriaQualification in Occupational Therapy.Current drivers licenceAHPRA registration.Current Working with Children Check.National Police ClearanceCurrent First Aid QualificationsPaediatric experience is desirable, but not essential.
