Our client require the skills of Internal Communications Specialist for an initial 4-6 month period. Working within a large communications team, the successful candidate will have one direct report and will work in partnership with all internal divisions to manage, coordinate and deliver a broad range of internal communication services within the Corporate Communications branch. The Corporate Communication team focuses on managing the interface with customers, employees and government stakeholders (including cluster and other government agency partners). These complex and diverse stakeholders have varied expectations which require tailored communication solutions to align to and support the corporate vision and purpose.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the development, implementation and evaluation of internal corporate communication plans, initiatives, events and campaigns in consultation with the Office of the Chief Executive, leadership team, divisions and branches and government agency partners to promote and maintain the agency’s reputation
  • Manage the weekly development of internal content for a broad range of internal communications initiatives and employee engagement campaigns
  • Maintain and enhance strong professional working relationships internally with senior management, divisions and externally with other cluster agencies and government stakeholders to deliver seamless, integration of communication across channels and platforms
  • Manage a team to drive the development and delivery of internal corporate communication initiatives
  • Use learnings from research into customer perception of the agency to support the divisions and guide business planning and prioritisation of initiatives and to manage risk and reputation
  • Coordinate, deliver and evaluate events, workshops and corporate activities to maximise engagement outcomes and feedback
  • Provide input and guidance to corporate, media and marketing campaigns based on key messages and objectives
  • Produce and provide input into the production of customer collateral including publications, presentations, consultation, web content, brochures, displays and marketing material across customer and stakeholder groups
  • Ensure targeted employees and stakeholders are communicated to in a clear and timely manner on the agency’s plans, projects, performance, opportunities and risks

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in communications, media or public relations, particularly within a government or services environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver corporate communication plans including the identification and analysis of key stakeholders and target audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex and technical information into accessible public information, including experience writing for different audiences.
