The Company:
An exciting opportunity exists with an award winning National Insurance builder that run small to large insurance related projects for clients in the residential, commercial and tenanted construction space.
Their projects include social housing (LAHC), Public works, luxury homes, multi-storey units, and they pride themselves for their finer finish, and envied reputation amongst competitors; offering a 5 day week, company vehicle, and more job flexibility for their loyal employees.
The Roles:
Recently they have picked up a medley of interesting mixed projects for major clients who need them to quote, and fix damages caused by climatic issues, including forest fires, storm and flood waters. As sole agency for their business Randstad (Hannah Lovelock) is looking to recruit mid level Insurance Supervisors for urgent long term permanent roles.
Reporting directly to the allocated Team leader / Manager you will be responsible for helping the daily operations of a busy site. In particular, assisting the claims coordinator in issuing contracts to the customer in accordance with the approved scope of works, pushing the trades, interpreting plans and generating construction programs and basically updating them accordingly as required by the schedule of works.
Duties:
... - Supervision / coordination of trades, site personnel and subcontractors.
- Procurement of materials and contractors in accordance with scope
- Create and issue purchase orders to contractors and suppliers
- Documenting site activity
- Reporting on damage’s
- Compliance and monitoring of WHS
- Quality audits, ensuring all works are completed in accordance with the current National Construction Codes
- Compliance audits ensuring the site operatives are working in accordance with the WHS procedures.
- Ensuring carpentry works are being carried out in according to plans.
- Manage works accordingly within budget, generate variations as required and reconcile PC/PS adjustments.
- Communicate updates with team, providing written correspondence inclusive of site photos with descriptions into related software
- Working closely with the Team to review the status of the project.
Requirements:
- You will be trade or tertiary qualified in Carpentry / Joinery.
- Setting out Experience
- Experience complying with WHS
- Willingness to travel out of your home area to assist with peak workload and CAT events
- Understanding of potential building code upgrades that may be required to facilitate repairs
- Provide the Insured with the relevant maintenance that may be required to ensure the event-related damages can be repaired and warranted.
- 4 years experience working for a building competitor in Australia.
- High communication skills and attention to detail
- Be hungry to fast track up the ranks in a bustling
- environment.
- Full driver’s licence and vehicle
