SafeWork NSW is the state’s workplace health and safety regulator. We focus on harm prevention and improving the safety culture in NSW workplaces through information, advice and compliance activities. We are currently seeking Inspectors within the Construction and Asbestos Services Directorate

This is an opportunity to apply your industry experience and qualifications to work in partnership with NSW workplaces to assist them in creating and maintaining work health and safety standards. We have a strong proactive education and intervention role designed to build industry capability and support the prevention of harm, this includes delivering key programs to support the Work Health and Safety Roadmap 2022.

As an Inspector, you will work in partnership with NSW construction industry employers to assist them in creating and maintaining workplaces where their employees understand where safety starts. You will provide advice regarding safe work practices and monitor and enforce compliance with work health and safety legislation. You will also conduct investigations into construction workplace incidents, injuries, fatalities and complaints.

This is a great opportunity to combine your construction industry experience and knowledge with your passion for workplace safety. You will utilise your relationship building and influencing to skills to help drive behaviour that supports workers returning home safely from work.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have sound knowledge and experience in workplace health and safety within the construction or heavy industry
  • Have strong communication skills to engage and influence key stakeholders to improve safety outcomes
  • Have the motivation and drive to achieve positive outcomes for the broader NSW community

Location: Field based position. However, base office locations are Haymarket, Baulkham Hills, Gosford or Liverpool (negotiable with successful candidate)

Salary: Receive an attractive salary package along with packaged motor vehicle options.

Salary range starting from $97,094 plus superannuation.
