Randstad is currently working with a Government Department who is seeking experienced or up and coming HR Support Officer for a 3 month contract.

As a key member of a small team, the HR Support Officer provides operational and administrative support across the full range of human resource functions, in particular recruitment and WHS.

The role plays a critical part in ensuring potential employees have a positive experience when they first engage with the agency and throughout the recruitment process. The HR Support Officer also shares the responsibility for the reception area, facilities, travel and human resources and acts as a back up and assistance to these roles as required.

In this role you will:

  • Provide information and advice to stakeholders and respond to HR related enquiries in accordance with Government and the agency policies and guidelines
  • Review vacant positions and determine the most appropriate way of advertising and filling the vacancy
  • Provide administrative support and coordination to recruitment processes, including liaising with candidates and panels as their first point of contact
  • Managing the new starter on boarding and induction process
  • Undertake some written or analytical tasks that assist in the delivery of human resource activities including internal policy reviews
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders regarding their WHS needs and where required, case management
  • As part of a team environment provide assistance as required to other members of the team

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Proven ability to build and sustain effective relationships in a professional, respectful and collaborative manner in order to provide a high level of client service
  • Experience in coordinating recruitment processes and ability to develop knowledge of related legislation and best practise guidelines
  • Good administrative and organisational skills with the ability to be flexible and manage changing priorities.
  • Good interpersonal skills and experience in liaising with a variety of stakeholders to build and sustain positive relationships and work collaboratively as part of a small team.
  • The ability to adapt quickly and effectively to new situations, showing initiative and an ability to learn from past experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in managing complex and/or sensitive HR situations including liaising with senior staff and other organisations
  • High level of commitment to deliver timely, efficient and personalised client service and aligning business activities with staff needs to deliver a solution
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment, human resources case management, including work health and safety, performance management and misconduct cases
  • Proven ability to work independently, exercise initiative and judgement on diverse tasks under limited supervision
