Client Details

Randstad have partnered with WA Aids Council who are a leading non-profit health promotion organisation with a vision to have healthy, inclusive and safe communities. In order to achieve this their mission is to minimise the impact and further transmission of sexually transmissible infections and other blood bone viruses and reduce social and legal barriers which prevent access to health information and support. We are currently recruiting for an exciting position for an experienced Leader in Health Promotion.

Description

WA Aids council requires a full-time experienced Health Promotion Manager to start as soon as possible on a Permanent contract.

The main objective of the role is to manage a team of staff and oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive health promotion strategies to improve the sexual health and wellbeing of key populations. This exciting position reports into the Chief Executive Officer of the organisation and will be responsible for the following:

  • Implementation and reporting against the organisations strategic plan and contractual obligations
  • Lead, motivate and develop the Health Promotion team and drive team building
  • High level resource management and stakeholder engagement to ensure the success of the organisations vision and mission
  • Support and assist the communities from priority populations, increase their knowledge and understanding to make informed decisions relating to their health and wellbeing in relation to sexually transmitted infections
  • Demonstrate leadership and excellence in education, advocacy, support and health enhancement services
  • Breakdown the stigma and discrimination experienced by people from those priority populations who are living with sexually transmitted diseases or are at risk of transmission

Profile

As an ideal applicant, you will have;

  • Be able to demonstrate a solid understanding and significant experience of public health or health promotion in a community based organisation
  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in Health Promotion, Public health or in a closely related area
  • Demonstrated evidence in successfully leading a team to achieve outcomes
  • High level communication
  • A current driving licence and a current working with children’s check along with a national police clearance no less than 6 months from date of issue
  • Have an understanding of sexual health and blood bone viruses
