This federal government department is a large department that is instrumental at providing social & community benefits to community groups, individuals and organisations.

We are looking for dedicated and motivated people to work to help make a difference in the community and the lives of hundreds and thousands of Australians. The role will be based in the Brisbane CBD

Your new role

We are currently seeking 2 x APS 5 and 1 x APS4 Funding Agreement Managers/Grants Officers to assist with this Federal Government Department community grant scheme. You will be assisting in the assessment of grant agreements, actively monitoring and managing contract performance and reviewing grant compliance and quality.

You will be employed on an initial contract that will go through to 30 Nov 2018 with a very real possibility of extension – earn some extra money before Christmas!

About your role

For the APS 5 position we are seeking you will:

  • Manage contracts and grant agreements
  • Assist with the development of contracts and agreements
  • Assess risks, monitoring performance against agreed objectives, targets and outcomes and ensuring that accountability requirements are met
  • Assess applications for funding and grants
  • Draft assessment documentation
  • Analyse information to assess risk and determine compliance and make recommendations to the delegate as required
  • Liaise effectively with key stakeholders including service providers, government agencies, community organisations and approved providers
  • Develop and maintain relevant program guidelines, legislation and policy framework

For the APS 4 position will have the following experience

  • Knowledge of government contract management systems or ability to quickly acquire;
  • IT proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word
  • Administration skills including data entry and records management
  • Customer service – highly developed written and verbal skills and ability to respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Flexible and collaborative team member
  • FOFMS (GovGPS) skills desirable

You will be successful in this role, if you will tick all the boxes below:

  • Must be an Australia Citizen
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders
  • Meticulous with detail and ability to multitask
  • Can work well autonomously and part of the team
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office
  • Experience in handling and managing confidential and sensitive information

**It is highly desirable if candidates had a background in social welfare and/or community development**
